Like the Suite for Solo Cello this piece is one of the fruits of my more recent "studio" technique, having been assembled from pieces that were written at various times, collected, and refined until they made good sense together, and also like the Suite, this piece was completed in 2005, from sketches dating as far back as 1999. The movement titles reflect the character of the music.
This piece was completed in 2005 to sketches that date back to 1999. Eleven minutes long, its four movements are:
I. Light and Expressive
II. Sustained and Enigmatic; With Many Blossomings of Tone
III. Bouyant (Quasi Menuetto)
IV. Relaxed but Ecstatic; Alert
The score is 13 pages long, in the composer's fair hand.
